Dad puts child in a drop box?

I don't know which is worse - that a father would dump his three year old son in a drop box, or that there's actually a drop box to dump unwanted babies off at in Japan.

The article on www.cnn.com says that parents are supposed to "seek outside help before dumping their offspring." Are you kidding me?!?!

Also, the father of the child is being urged to come forward and identify himself, and isn't going to get in trouble for what he did, since he didn't put his child in the immediate way of harm.

I say the dad should stay home and keep his mouth shut, then get beat up. That kid doesn't need to go back to a house where he gets discarded at a "no more baby" shelter. Blech.

The Real-Time Bad News Blues.

A guy walks into an office building.

Sits down. Says nothing.

When asked if he needs help, he replies, "I need to get my blood drawn."

When told that he's come to the wrong place, he asks to be pointed in the right place.

He's properly directed approximately three miles to the left.

Five minutes pass.

The guy returns.

Sits down. Says nothing.

When asked if he needs help, again, he replies, "I need to get my blood drawn," as though he'd never mentioned it before.

He reaches into his pocket.

The nearby women briefly contemplate - "Should we be hitting the floor?"

He stops reaching into his pocket.

Once more, he's told he's in the wrong place, and is pointed in the right direction.

He leaves, and continues to pace in front of the office building for several minutes thereafter, accomplishing nothing.

And that, my friend, is the bad news blues.

Because they were bullied.

What I want to know is, why is "I was bullied" always everybody's excuse for everything??

It seems to be everybody's (who's under the age of 25) motive for killing themselves or killing other people. We were all bullied! Unless we were the captain of the football team or a member of the cheerleading squad, we were bullied. And even then, we were freakin' bullied!

Some of us more than others, yes, I get that, but why is it always the excuse? It's the same thing as saying it's Marilyn Manson's fault that people are gothic and suicidal.

I think if you're going to end your own life, or end somebody else's life, you're going to do it for a bigger reason than being bullied. But apparently Stephanie Gestier and Jodie Gater didn't.

"A man charged with drunken driving on the way to a drunken driving hearing said he probably will have to quit drinking." Hahaha! Are you kidding me!?

This seventy-four year old man should have had his driver's license revoked after his first DUI, I'm thinkin'.

Hitting a car in the Arby's parking lot, only to flee the scene in quite the hurried manner, is the utter definition of bad news blues.

"They're going to force me to stop!" he says. Yes sir, they are. After all, you just got off house arrest!

Renee Clark, 27, is one hell of a trouble maker. First, she axes her boyfriend's son from the planet by way of "scalding," and then, a year later, she fries her daughter's foot.

Somehow, she managed to burn her poor little girl with a curling iron...and how? I mean, it's not like a foot of any kind should be in the vicinity of a hairstyling device, right?

But more importantly, why is this guy still together with the woman who murdered his child?! I mean, the kid was so badly scalded that his skin actually managed to fall off. Yet, he still allows Clark to be around his other two children? Smarrrrrt guy. Real smart.

Two sixteen year olds decided to make a suicide pact...and keep it. Stephanie Gestier and Jodie Gater apparently offed themselves in a park, after telling their parents they were merely going shopping one morning.

The thing that boggles me is, why didn't they bother to leave a suicide note? Instead, all they did was leave a poorly punctuated goodbye to Jodie's boyfriend on her Myspace page's 'About Me' section. Ah, to be sixteen again.

Both girls were found hung from trees in a local park, swinging from nooses they'd made themselves. Their bodies had been hanging for days before they were discovered. And now, of course, there's a rumor going around that their interest in the Gothic community was what led to this tragic ending. Uh huh. Because Marilyn Manson is still at fault for everything everyone does, right?

DUNGEON RAPES?!?!

Are you kidding me? We're now raping women in dungeons?

Kenneth Hinson somehow got off in court for allegedly raping two women underground, and "appeared to cry" when the verdict was read. Come on, now. Did he cry, or did he just appear to cry? Because I'm thinking his cry was more of a celebratory, "Thank god I don't have to spend the next 20 years in jail" cry.

This "underground room" sounds quite sketchy. Apparently, it has no air. After all, he left the women there to die, under the impression that they'd croak from lack of air supply. Plus, it was full of pot. An airless pot haven, if you will. Hinson claimed the girls had consensual sex with him in exchange for said pot.

I say Hinson is full of shit.

You'd think after something like what happened at Virginia Tech takes place, something that shakes the nation to its core, people could actually come together and make the best of the situation by loving one another and reaching out. Some do. But unfortunately, situations like these tend to bring a lot of creeps out of the woodwork; copy-cats; people who want to make a scene.

Yesterday, portions of UNR were put on lockdown, followed by an entire evacuation and closing of the campus, after some random dude found it necessary to haul around and call in some random bomb threats. Luckily, he was busted later on down in Carson, so at least that takes one drama queen out of the post-national-crisis aftermath.

Although now, someone is shooting up NASA. Lovely.

Victim of abuse, or cold-blooded killer?

A Tennessee woman shot her preacher husband to death with one of her children (9 years old) standing nearby to witness the aftermath.

Mary Winkler claims she didn't mean to shoot her husband. She also claims that he made her do things in bed that she wasn't comfortable with, and that he beat her on a regular basis.

Winkler told the jury she pointed the gun at her husband's face to force him to talk about their problems. Makes sense...NOT. I mean, seriously. Your husband doesn't want to chat, so you hold a gun to his head and that makes everything all better? I don't think so, lady.

Plus, if it were an accident, then why toss your children into a minivan and drive all the way to Alabama to avoid incarceration? Whacko.

Anyone hear about the journalism grad student at Columbia who was tortured for nineteen long hours before being left for dead to the fiery flames that were lit before her?

This woman was beaten, raped, bound, drugged, covered in hot water and bleach, and set on fire. Not to mention, her eyelids had been slit with a knife. Whoever did this is one hell of a gruesome bastard, and he's still out there.

Luckily, this woman is strong - she survived. She used the flames to free herself from the cables he'd tied her up with, and was eventually able to get herself to a hospital for care. Seriously, what a trooper. Major props to this girl.

Now, let's find the jerk who did this and get him off the streets.

Someone tell me, what is up with the media? Or shall I say, what is up with the police who are supposed to be reporting necessary events to the media?

A couple of days ago, a friend of mine was standing outside of the preschool he teaches at, talking to one of the mothers, when all of a sudden, some random guy raced past him in quite the hurried manner, not even looking before flinging himself across a busy street.

Apparently, this man was running for his life. Not running to save it, but running to keep himself out of jail. Turns out, he's a wanted rapist from California who decided to come hangout in Reno for awhile.

Not only did this man get away from the police, but a local elementary school was put on lockdown, as well as several city blocks closed down in attempts at protecting the nearby citizens from this heinous criminal. Sounds like a pretty big deal that's worthy of warning the public about, right? Apparently not.

There was no mentioning of this event in the local newspapers whatsoever. So you tell me - what other vital information are we missing out on? What else is being kept from us? And why? Because it would seem that as a community, we have the right to know if there's a dangerous rapist on the loose that's causing our schools and streets to be temporarily shutdown. Just a thought.

Massacre at Virginia Tech.

I can't even begin to express my sincerest of condolences to the victims and their families of this extremely mind-blowing tragedy. To think that a life can be literally blown to pieces in such a rapid and meaningless manner is an absolute heartbreak, and even worse, for no good reason.

The man responsible for taking the lives of these 32 people is nothing but weak and disgusting. No legitimate human being takes his anguish and disillusionment out on others unless he is afraid. Afraid of what, we’ll never know. Most likely, afraid of himself. Afraid of the evil that lurked inside of him. Afraid of never being known by society. Instead of ending his own life and going in the silence he’s remembered for living in, he felt it necessary to take the entire world down with him.

What happened on Monday at Virginia Tech will always be remembered; Cho Seung-Hui will not. Our nation is coming together to mourn the victims of this heinous rampage, and to comfort one another in knowing that we are united as one. When all of the media, madness, and mayhem of this devastating situation subsides, Cho will be nothing more than dust in the wind – a man who was clearly demented, lost, and alone. A man who will now be made to relive his wickedness over and over again until his final day of judgment. A man who deserves nothing more.

And as for myself, I’ll always wonder why. Why the police didn’t enter the building sooner. Why the campus wasn’t closed down after the first two murders took place that morning. And mostly, why such terrible things have to happen to decent people.

The truth is clear – our nation is slowly transforming from a safe place where nobody locks their doors, to a chaotic and unexplainable mess of crime, sadness, and utter selfishness.
